Compliance & regulated-market readiness

ISO/IEC 17025 is the vertical’s organizing fact: accreditation claims, accrediting body, stated scope disciplines, and legacy standards (MIL-STD-45662A, Z540-1) are extracted as exact text with source URLs. Exclusions complete the picture: calibration arms of national distribution groups, instrumentation-brand service divisions, firms whose sites announce transitions into larger groups — each disqualified with the quoted sentence that did it. Roughly one in ten keyword-perfect candidates proves already group-owned.

On-site calibration and the territory question

The in-lab versus on-site split deserves its own treatment, because it decides what kind of business a buyer is actually acquiring.

Most real labs blend bench and on-site models, and the blend is documented on their websites. The screen records the documented weight of each model per company because acquirers use the field in opposite directions.

Service labs document programs, turnarounds, scopes, and submission workflows; product companies document catalogs and support policies. The deep pass classifies from that documented weight, quotes the deciding evidence, and flags the ambiguous cases at reduced confidence rather than forcing them. The specimen’s insufficient-evidence section includes a global test-equipment manufacturer for precisely this reason.

That is the ideal use.
